About the Show:
How do you tell TWO great love stories on ONE stage? Easy, make it THREE! Sense and Sensibility, the Jane Austen classic, follows the story of Elinor and Marianne Dashwood — their sorrows, joys, and winding paths to love. But in this adaptation, those stories are seen through the eyes of their younger sister, Margaret. Now in her early twenties and eager to write her first novel, Margaret recounts her sisters’ lives to her close friend, Mr. Teale, filling the scenes with humor, heartfelt observations, and the occasional playful interruption. As Elinor’s quiet strength and Marianne’s dramatic passions take center stage, Margaret steps in to point out key details, tease the future, and suggest to us that love stories are actually heroic adventures — all while insisting that she “shall never pen a romance!” This lively adaptation honors Austen’s wit and timeless charm while giving audiences a fresh, personal lens through which to experience the Dashwood sisters’ trials and triumphs.
