Summer Physical Education class runs July 8-26, 2024.
Registration Information
Registration will close on May 1. Enrollment is limited. The first priority will be to students who have a scheduling conflict / impending graduation requirement issue for Physical Education during the upcoming school year. The registration fee of $150.00 must accompany the registration form; checks preferred, are payable to Padua Franciscan High School. The check will be returned to the student if they are not enrolled in the course. No refund of registration fee will be made after the second day of class, whether for cancellation or for absence. This course is available only to enrolled Padua Franciscan students entering grades 9 – 12 in the Fall of 2024.
The Registration Form and the Emergency Medical Authorization Form, as well as the payment, must be returned to the Counseling Coordinator in one single packet/envelope. (Incoming Freshmen may mail the forms and check, ATTN: Counseling Coordinator.) A school official will contact the student concerning their enrollment if there are concerns; otherwise, you will receive a confirmation letter by mid-May.
All regular Padua Franciscan policies will be in effect for students in this class. (Please refer to the current edition of the Parent-Student Handbook, available online, with any questions.) Students will receive a course syllabus on the first day of class, which will include information about what to wear each day. Students may wear any shorts (no short-shorts) or sweats and a Padua Franciscan High School T-shirt. No tight-fitting shirts or shorts, no leggings or yoga pants allowed. Daily classes are from 8:00am to Noon. Students will assemble in the Gym by 8:00 each morning. Showers and changing facilities will be available at the end of class should a student need them. Enrollment in this class constitutes permission for all scheduled activities.
ATTENDANCE POLICY A student is entitled to NO ABSENCES. Without exception, two (2) absences during a summer school semester will result in loss of credit. Three (3) tardies equal one (1) absence and a tardy of 30 minutes or more will equal one (1) absence. There are no acceptable non-emergency excuses for tardiness or absence.
A ¼ credit is awarded on the regular report card after Semester I and will be shown as Physical Education SS. Thus, this course replaces credit for either Physical Fitness or Lifestyle Fitness.
