Through the generosity of the Northern Ohio Italian American Foundation, several Padua students are receiving $5,000 scholarships, which are renewable annually (totaling $20,000 throughout their high school experience).
Sophomore Elizabeth Wirtz ’27 addressed NOIA members during a recent luncheon. She expressed her appreciation for the opportunity to learn the Italian language in high school. President Dave Stec ’86 was also in attendance.
Other recipients include senior Sophia Kucera ’25 and juniors Olivia DiPaolo ’26 and Giancarlo Bontempo ’26. They must maintain a 3.0 (or higher) GPA, be of Italian descent, participate in extracurricular activities and take an active leadership role.
“We are truly grateful for the generosity of NOIA,” said Principal Bob DiRocco. “Their continued commitment to students in financial need ensures access to a premier, Franciscan education. At Padua, young men and women can live within a community where all are challenged to achieve academic excellence and to live out a lifelong commitment to Christ in Holiness and Learning.”
