Nine Padua Students Honored with Governor’s Scholarship

Nine Padua Franciscan High School seniors have been awarded the Governor’s Merit Scholarship. Each student will receive $5,000 renewable scholarships for the next four years because they are in the top 5% of Ohio’s Class of 2025.

  • Jonathan Nguyen ’25
  • Jacob Phillips ’25
  • Jonathan Previts ’25
  • Jocelyn Salwan ’25
  • Grace Weinberg ’25
  • Jenna Zimmerli ’25

Funds can be applied to tuition and fees, as well as other educational expenses, including books, equipment, and room and board. Students may use the scholarship at any public or private, non-profit college or university in Ohio.

In collaboration with the Ohio Department of Higher Education, Gov. Mike DeWine created this award to increase the number of high-achieving high school graduates who remain in Ohio for college.
