MedTrack® ExternSHOP 2025

Numerous volunteers helped showcase a variety of healthcare careers to the rising MedTrack® juniors during the annual MedTrack ExternSHOP™, also known as an externship workshop on Saturday, June 7, 2025. The purpose is to provide hands-on experiences that go beyond what students of this age can experience in a clinical setting.

New this year were sessions on Podiatry led by LECOM's Dr. Duane Ehredt, Dentistry led by LECOM's Dr. Susan Calderbank, Pathology led by AmeriPath's Dr. Katherine Watts, and Dermatology led by Ms. Jenna Boyne ’13.

Additional thanks to alumni Dr. Katie Cerny-Suelzer ’93, Dr. Joe Hanna ’79, Ms. Kelly Keil ’20, Dr. Jonah Kuvin ’15, Ms. Lexie Moss ’14, Mr. John Niezgoda ’21, Dr. Mike Scarcella ’01, Dr. Nick Scarcella ’08, and Ms. Kayleigh Wallenhorst ’19, who hosted sessions on biomedical engineering, forensic psychiatry, neurology, nursing, and orthopedic surgery.
